FIU Football announced on May 28 the launch of its 25th Season celebratory campaign, unveiling a new commemorative logo that incorporates elements from the program’s history.
The 2026 season will mark FIU’s 25th year of football competition, dating back to its inaugural season in 2002. During this period, the Panthers have participated in six bowl games, achieved six Shula Bowl victories, and produced several NFL players, including Pro Bowlers T.Y. Hilton and Jonnu Smith. The program has also seen numerous coaches and standout athletes contribute to memorable moments for Panther Nation.
According to the announcement, fans can expect content highlighting the team’s journey from its inception through present day. The celebration will recognize early teams and past players who helped establish FIU’s football legacy. The festivities will continue throughout the upcoming season, which is set to be head coach Willie Simmons’ second year following what was described as one of the most historic seasons on record for FIU.
The commemorative logo features six stars representing bowl appearances (2010, 2011, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2025), a navy helmet similar to that worn during FIU’s first game in 2002, ten hash marks symbolizing NFL draft picks from the program, a curved line reflecting Pitbull Stadium’s scoreboard design, and a pointed shield bottom echoing elements from the original Golden Panthers logo used in their inaugural year.
As part of this campaign rollout, content celebrating past achievements will be shared across FIU Football’s official social media channels. Additional information about tickets is available through FIU Athletics’ online ticket office or by phone.
