FIU men’s basketball has secured the eighth seed in the Conference USA tournament after defeating Western Kentucky at the end of their regular season. The team, which finished with a 15-16 overall record and an 8-12 mark in conference play, will face Missouri State (14-17, 8-12) on Tuesday night. The game is set for a 6:30 p.m. ET tip-off at Propst Arena in Huntsville and will be broadcast on ESPN+.

This season marks the first time FIU and Missouri State have competed as conference rivals. In their two meetings this year, each team won its home game. Missouri State overcame a strong performance from Julian Mackey, who scored 18 points, to secure a 79-71 victory in Springfield on January 10. Later, Corey Stephenson hit a decisive three-pointer that led FIU to a narrow 70-67 win in Miami on February 21.

The Panthers are aiming to progress beyond the opening round for the third consecutive year.
