The FIU Panthers women’s basketball team has secured the second seed for the upcoming Conference USA Basketball Championships after achieving a program-best 12 wins in conference play this season. The team’s overall record stands at 19-10, with a 12-6 mark in CUSA games. This seeding marks their highest position since joining Conference USA in the 2013-14 season.

The tournament will take place at Propst Arena in Huntsville, Alabama, for the third year in a row. As the two-seed, FIU will receive a bye into the quarterfinals and is scheduled to face the winner of the matchup between the seventh and tenth seeds on Wednesday, March 11 at 2 p.m. CT (3 p.m. ET). The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.

FIU aims to secure its first victory in the Conference USA Basketball Championships since defeating Florida Atlantic during the first round of the 2021-22 tournament.

Additional details about the tournament can be found on the Conference USA Basketball Championships portal.
