The Miami Hurricanes women’s basketball team secured an 89–73 win over Florida State on Sunday at the Watsco Center in Coral Gables. Ra Shaya Kyle was a standout for Miami, scoring a career-high 30 points and collecting 10 rebounds, marking her twelfth double-double of the season.
Four other Hurricanes players also scored in double digits: Amarachi Kimpson had 17 points, Gal Raviv scored 13, Ahnay Adams contributed 11, and Vittoria Blasigh added 10. The team recorded 22 assists and committed just 11 turnovers while outrebounding Florida State by a margin of two.
Florida State opened the game with five unanswered points before Kimpson hit a three-pointer to start Miami’s offense. Despite shooting better from the field—43.8 percent compared to FSU’s 37.5—the Hurricanes trailed after the first quarter, down by one point at 19-18.
Miami gained its first lead early in the second quarter following consecutive baskets from Kyle. After several lead changes and ties, Miami entered halftime ahead by two points, 37–35.
In the third quarter, both teams traded runs before Miami closed out the period on an 11–0 run to establish a ten-point lead at 66–56. Kyle led the way in this high-scoring quarter with nine points.
The Hurricanes maintained control in the fourth quarter, outscoring Florida State 23–17 and holding them scoreless from three-point range. Miami built its largest lead of the game at 85–66 with under four minutes left and secured the win by dominating rebounds in the final period.
