The Miami Hurricanes women’s basketball team was defeated by No. 10/11 Louisville, 77–68, at the Watsco Center on Thursday afternoon.

Amarachi Kimpson led Miami with 18 points. Ra Shaya Kyle contributed 10 points and a game-high 11 rebounds, marking her 11th double-double of the season and leading the ACC in that category. Three Hurricanes scored in double figures during the game.

Miami now holds a record of 10–6 overall and 2–3 in ACC play. Louisville improved to 15–3 and remains undefeated in conference games at 5-0.

The Hurricanes started strong, going on an early 8-0 run and holding the lead for over four minutes in the first quarter. Ahnay Adams led early scoring with six points, while both Adams and Kyle secured four rebounds each out of Miami’s total of 15 in the opening period. Despite this effort, Miami trailed Louisville by three at the end of the first quarter.

Louisville extended its lead to five points early in the second period before Miami tied it twice and briefly regained the lead at the free-throw line. The teams exchanged leads four times in the final five minutes of the half, with Miami entering halftime ahead, 35–33, after shooting 41 percent from the field.

At halftime, Miami had a rebounding edge (23–18) and forced nine turnovers that led to twelve points. The Hurricanes scored most of their first-half points inside the paint.

In the third quarter, Louisville tied the game immediately and then went on a decisive 13–3 run to build its first double-digit advantage. The Cardinals finished the third quarter up by thirteen points.

Miami narrowed Louisville’s lead to eight early in the fourth quarter following a scoring run but could not close further as Louisville responded with consecutive three-pointers to extend their advantage once more.

Next up for Miami is a home game against Florida State on January 11 at Watsco Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m., with broadcast coverage on ACCN.
