María Elvira Salazar, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Florida’s 27th district, shared her views on several topics through social media posts recently. Her comments touched upon the economic impact of Formula 1 in Miami and changes in crime rates in El Salvador.

On May 2, 2025, Rep. Salazar expressed enthusiasm for the return of Formula 1 to Miami, stating “This weekend we welcome @F1 back to Miami! The Grand Prix brings people from all over the world, pumps millions of dollars into our economy, and puts Miami’s world class entertainment on full display!”

In another tweet posted shortly after on the same day, she reiterated her sentiments in Spanish: “¡Este fin de semana, la @F1 vuelve a encender motores en Miami! El Gran Premio atrae a miles de visitantes, impulsa nuestra economía con millones de dólares y posiciona a Miami como la capital del entretenimiento global.”

On May 5, 2025, Rep. Salazar commented on improvements in public safety within El Salvador. She remarked that “El Salvador went from chaos to calm, once ruled by gangs, now the safest country in the region. That’s the power of ensuring laws matter and that crime has consequences!”
