Rep. María Elvira Salazar, U.S. Congresswoman representing Florida’s 27th district since 2021, used her social media accounts this week to promote her legislative initiative, the Dignity Act, and to comment on international political developments.

The following day, she reiterated her support for the Dignity Act by outlining its core components: “Grateful for the chance to talk about my Dignity Act with the media this week!

This plan has three key parts:

Enacts strong enforcement measures to end illegal immigration and make sure we never get into this mess again.

Creates a one-time “Dignity Program” for certain”

On July 19, Salazar addressed actions taken against Alexandre de Moraes, stating: “Since day one, I’ve been calling out Alexandre de Moraes. I raised my voice in Congress to expose his abuse of power.

Censorship, arrests, and political persecution have no place in a democracy.

The visa revocation is a start, now we need full accountability.”

Salazar’s focus on immigration reform through the Dignity Act follows her tenure as U.S. Representative for Florida’s 27th District since 2021; she succeeded Donna Shalala in that role. She was born in Miami in 1961 and holds a degree from the University of Miami (1983). Prior to serving in Congress, Salazar also served in the Florida House of Representatives.
