U.S. Representative María Elvira Salazar, who serves Florida’s 27th district, has recently used her social media platform to highlight economic developments, foreign policy actions, and immigration reform.

On July 30, 2025, Salazar commented on the state of the U.S. economy under former President Trump, writing: “Under President Trump’s leadership, America’s economy is roaring back. GDP is up, confidence is rising, and working families are finally seeing results. “

Later that day, she expressed gratitude toward President Biden and Secretary Rubio regarding sanctions imposed on Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes: “Thank you, @POTUS and @SecRubio . Since day one, I’ve called for sanctions against Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes under the Global Magnitsky Act for his serious human rights abuses.

Today, that call has been answered.

Let if be clear: a black robe is not a…” The Global Magnitsky Act enables the U.S. government to sanction foreign officials implicated in human rights violations or corruption.

On July 31, 2025, Salazar discussed her participation in an interview about immigration legislation: “I recently joined Jackie Nespral to talk about the Dignity Act of 2025.

It restores law and order and fixes our immigration system. No citizenship and or federal benefits. Just the ability to work, pay taxes and live a dignified life.”

Salazar has represented Florida’s 27th congressional district since 2021 after defeating Donna Shalala in the previous election cycle. She was born in Miami in 1961 and graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1983. Before serving in Congress, she was also a member of the Florida House of Representatives.
