Salazar has represented Florida’s 27th district in Congress since defeating Donna Shalala in 2021. Prior to her congressional tenure, she served in the Florida House of Representatives. Born in Miami in 1961 and currently residing there at age 61, Salazar earned her BA from the University of Miami in 1983.
