Salazar has represented Florida’s 27th district in Congress since defeating Donna Shalala in the 2020 election and previously served in the Florida House of Representatives. Born in Miami in 1961 and an alumna of the University of Miami with a BA earned in 1983, Salazar remains active on issues affecting both her constituents and broader international relations.
