Rep. María Elvira Salazar, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 27th district, shared updates on social media regarding local events and opportunities for residents of her constituency.

On June 10, 2025, Rep. Salazar expressed her support for the Florida Panthers as they competed in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals. She posted: “Cheering on our amazing Florida Panthers tonight in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals! Now it’s time to make history with back to back Stanley cup wins! ¡VAMOS GATOS!”

Later that day, she informed Miami-Dade residents about a housing opportunity: “ATTENTION Miami-Dade Residents The county is now accepting applications for housing vouchers through June 20 at 11:59 p.m. Apply online or in person. Make sure you don’t miss the deadline line to apply.” This was followed by a similar message in Spanish to ensure accessibility for all constituents: “ATENCIÓN Residentes de Miami-Dade El condado está aceptando solicitudes para vales de asistencia de vivienda hasta el 20 de junio a las 11:59 p.m. Puedes aplicar en línea o en persona. Asegúrate de no dejar pasar la fecha límite.”

María Elvira Salazar has served in Congress since replacing Donna Shalala in 2021 and previously held office in the Florida House of Representatives. Born and residing in Miami, she graduated from the University of Miami with a BA.
