Colten Morris, a graduate student from Lewes, Delaware, has joined the Miami Hurricane Track & Field team. He previously attended Robert Morris University and is now pursuing a Master of Science in Finance at the University of Miami.

Morris cited the university’s appearance and its nationally recognized business school as reasons for choosing Miami. “The school is beautiful, and the business school is nationally recognized,” he said.

Reflecting on his time so far, Morris noted, “I have had a lot of fun meeting new people and exploring the city and surrounding areas.” He added that being part of a well-known team was important to him: “I enjoy being part of a team and representing a school that people recognize across the nation.”

Morris mentioned adapting to Florida’s climate as one of his biggest adjustments. “It has been a fun experience adapting to running in very hot and humid conditions,” he said.

When asked about his favorite aspect of being a Hurricane student-athlete, he responded: “Bonding with my teammates.” Describing his team in one word, Morris chose “Gentlemen.” He also pointed out that Coral Gables differs from his hometown because “the population of Miami-Dade County is 3x the population of my state.” Comparing resources between schools, he noted having access to many more athletic resources at Miami than before.

Among other personal interests, Morris named Grant Fisher as his favorite athlete, steak as his favorite meal, “Good Will Hunting” as his preferred movie, and Mac Miller as his favorite music artist. He enjoys listening to music and spending time with friends during his spare time.
