Magdaline Campo, a junior from Paris, France, has joined the Miami Hurricane Track & Field team after transferring from East Texas A&M University. She is majoring in Sociology with a focus on Criminology.

Campo shared her reasons for choosing Miami: “I chose Miami because the city immediately drew my attention, and I really liked the track and field program they offered!”

Reflecting on her experience so far, she said, “Really Good!” When asked about her favorite part of being a Hurricane, Campo highlighted the excitement of college sports: “Supporting the football team and experiencing my first big college football game with an incredible atmosphere!”

Campo noted that adapting to a new training routine has been significant. “Starting a real, structured training program with highly skilled and dedicated coaches,” she explained as her biggest adjustment since arriving at Miami.

She described her favorite aspect of being a student-athlete at Miami as “Being able to train in a paradise-liked place!” She characterized her team as “Welcoming” and observed that Coral Gables differs from Paris due to its unique environment. Campo also mentioned that having attentive and involved coaches was another key difference compared to her previous school.

In addition to athletics, Campo shared some personal favorites. Her favorite athlete is Anna Hall; she enjoys eating Alloco; likes the movie White Chicks; listens to Lil Wayne and Glorilla; and had a cat as her first pet. The farthest she has traveled from home is Jakarta, Indonesia. In her free time, she spends time with friends. Her nicknames include Mag, Magda, and Magdou.
