The University of Miami men’s basketball team secured a 77-69 win over SMU on Wednesday at the Moody Center in Dallas. With this victory, Miami improved its record to 24-6 for the season, tying the school record for most regular season wins. The Hurricanes also moved to 13-4 in ACC play, earning the No. 3 seed for next week’s ACC Tournament.

Miami maintained a lead throughout the first half, with Shelton Henderson hitting a three-pointer that gave them a five-point advantage midway through. Noam Dovrat added his third three-pointer just before halftime, giving Miami its largest lead of the half at 38-31.

After halftime, Miami started strong with a 7-0 run that extended their lead to 45-31. SMU responded with their own run but could not take control as Miami answered back and pushed their advantage to 60-44.

Jaron Pierre Jr. of SMU made consecutive three-pointers late in the game to reduce Miami’s lead to eight points at 68-60. Malik Reneau then hit a three-pointer for Miami, restoring an eleven-point margin.
