University of Miami baseball players Daniel Cuvet and Ryan Bilka have received preseason All-America honors from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA), according to an announcement by the association.

Daniel Cuvet, a third baseman from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was selected as a NCBWA Preseason First Team All-American. In the 2025 season, Cuvet started 61 games and recorded a .372 batting average with 84 hits, 18 home runs, 84 runs batted in (RBI), and 20 doubles. He posted a .708 slugging percentage and reached base at a .450 rate.

Cuvet also performed well during postseason play. He was named Hattiesburg Regional MVP after hitting .385 with two doubles, one home run, and five RBI, contributing to Miami’s advance to the NCAA Louisville Super Regional for the first time since 2016.

In his first two collegiate seasons, Cuvet has played in 118 games and has compiled a .361 career batting average with 165 hits, 42 home runs, 159 RBI, and a total on-base plus slugging percentage (OPS) of 1.161. As he enters the new season, he is within reach of Miami’s all-time career home run record held by Phil Lane from 1982 to 1984; Cuvet needs twenty more home runs to tie this record.

Cuvet’s list of preseason accolades includes being named:
– NCBWA Preseason First Team All-American
– Perfect Game Preseason First Team All-American
– D1Baseball Preseason First Team All-American
– Baseball America Preseason Third Team All-American
– Inclusion on both Baseball America’s National Award Watch List and the Golden Spikes Award Preseason Watch List
– The top-ranked third baseman in college baseball by D1Baseball

Ryan Bilka joined Miami as a transfer from Richmond and earned national recognition after his performance last season. Bilka finished with a 2.18 earned run average (ERA), six wins against two losses, three saves over eighteen appearances, sixty-two innings pitched, fifty-seven strikeouts, and limited opposing hitters to a .193 batting average.

Bilka’s preseason honors include:
– NCBWA Preseason Third Team All-American
– Perfect Game Preseason Third Team All-American

The University of Miami will start its baseball season on Friday, February 13th against Lehigh at Mark Light Field with the game scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.
