Rep. María Elvira Salazar, who has represented Florida’s 27th district in the U.S. Congress since 2021, recently shared a series of statements on social media addressing U.S. foreign policy and immigration reform. Salazar, who succeeded Donna Shalala and previously served in the Florida House of Representatives, continues to advocate for strong positions on international and domestic issues.
On July 11, 2025, Salazar emphasized the need for firm leadership at the State Department regarding Cuba, stating “It’s about time we have a leader at @StateDept who understands: zero tolerance for tyrants. Block their visas. Sanction their cronies. We will not stop until the Cuban people are finally free.
Thank you @MarcoRubio for leading with moral clarity.”
On July 13, 2025, Salazar announced her upcoming legislative initiative to address immigration reform: ” Just 2 days away… I’m introducing the #DIGNITYACT a real solution to finally fix our broken immigration system. Stay tuned. “
