Rep. María Elvira Salazar, serving in the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 27th district, has been vocal on various policy issues through her social media platforms. Her recent tweets reveal her stance on U.S. trade policy and international economic matters, specifically regarding Argentina.

On April 12, 2025, Salazar expressed her views on American trade policy, highlighting the importance of prioritizing American workers and industries. She remarked, “Nuestra política comercial debe dar prioridad al trabajador americano y a la industria estadounidense. Gracias a esta administración, nuestra política comercial finalmente refleja esos valores. “

Two days later, on April 14, 2025, Salazar discussed her actions concerning the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and Argentina. She stated, “Earlier this month, I urged the IMF to help @JMilei on his mission to save Argentina’s economy. They listened! The tides are turning and countries such as Argentina are showing the world that capitalism WORKS. “ Furthermore, she reiterated this in Spanish, “Este mes, le pedí al FMI a ayudar a @JMilei en su misión de salvar la economía argentina. ¡Escucharon! Las cosas están cambiando y países como Argentina están mostrando al mundo que el capitalismo FUNCIONA. “

María Elvira Salazar was born in Miami, Florida in 1961. She has served in the U.S. Congress since 2021, succeeding Donna Shalala. Salazar is an alumna of the University of Miami, graduating in 1983.
