Today, Congressman Carlos Gimenez from Florida extended his congratulations to Congresswoman Elise Stefanik on her nomination as the United States Ambassador to the United Nations. Gimenez, representing Florida's 28th district, praised Stefanik's record and expressed confidence in her ability to serve in this new role.

Gimenez stated, "President-elect Trump’s Ambassador to the United Nations is my friend, colleague, and House GOP Chairwoman Elise Stefanik." He further added that Stefanik has been a strong advocate for freedom worldwide and highlighted her dedication to supporting countries like Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua. "I know Elsie and she will not let us down," he affirmed.

The congressman acknowledged that while Stefanik's presence will be missed in the House of Representatives, he believes she will continue to make significant contributions as part of the incoming Trump Administration.

Carlos Gimenez serves Miami-Dade County and the Florida Keys. Notably, he is the only Cuban-born member of the 118th Congress. His background includes serving as a firefighter paramedic before being elected to Congress. Gimenez holds leadership roles on several committees including Homeland Security Subcommittee on Transportation and Maritime Security, Armed Services Committee, and Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party.
