Kendall United Methodist Church issued the following announcement on Aug. 14.
Join us for worship at 9 AM or 11 AM tomorrow (8-15-21) for “Healing.” Our guest speaker is Dr. Cynthia D. Weems. Cynthia is the Superintendent of the Southeast District of the Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church. She has served in this role since 2015. Prior to this appointment, she served as pastor of First United Methodist Church of Miami, a church with an extensive ministry to the diverse homeless population of downtown Miami.
She is a graduate of Millsaps College and Yale Divinity School and served as a volunteer missionary in Cochabamba, Bolivia immediately following seminary. She speaks Spanish and Portuguese and thrives on the rich diversity of South Florida’s communities.
