April is National Donate Life Month, a time to celebrate those who have received organ or tissue transplants, recognize those who continue to wait, to honor donors and donor families, and to thank registered donors for giving hope. Some of our team members gathered with colleagues from LifeNet Health and LifeQuest Organ Recovery Services this week to honor donors with a flag ceremony and prayer.
Nina Chestnut, identity access specialist in IT, was awarded the Tissue Donation Champion Award for her outstanding commitment to streamline the tissue donation process at Baptist. In 2021, seven organ donors at Baptist Hospital made 24 lifesaving organ transplants possible.
