WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Carlos A. Giménez (FL-28) along with Representatives Mario Díaz-Balart (FL-26), María Elvira Salazar (FL-27), and Juan Ciscomani (AZ-06) sat down with Telemundo to discuss their expectations for the State of the Union Address and celebrate the record number of Hispanic Republicans serving in the Congressional Hispanic Conference.
"Somos un número histórico de Congresistas hispanos dentro del partido Republicano! Es todo un honor conversar con mis colegas María Elvira, Mario, Juan y Julio Vaqueiro de Telemundo News sobre nuestra visión ante el Estado de la Unión," said Congressman Gimenez.
Congressman Carlos Giménez represents Miami-Dade County and the beautiful Florida Keys. He is the only member of the 118th Congress born in Cuba, having fled his homeland shortly after the communist takeover of the island. Giménez is the first career firefighter paramedic elected to the House of Representatives and has served as the former Chief of the Miami Fire Department and Mayor of Miami-Dade County. He is a member of the House Armed Services Committee, the Homeland Security Committee, and the Select Committee on China.
