Today, Congressman Carlos Gimenez extended his congratulations to Florida International University (FIU) and Miami-Dade College (MDC) for their new standings in the U.S. News and World Report rankings.
Florida International University, which falls within Congressman Gimenez's district, has achieved a rank of #46 among public universities and #98 among all universities nationwide. Additionally, FIU tied for the top spot in the nation for social mobility.
Miami-Dade College, where Congressman Gimenez is an alumnus, ranked #4 among regional colleges and #18 overall in the South Region. MDC also placed #6 in best colleges for veterans, #10 in social mobility, and #12 in value schools within the South Region.

Congressman Carlos Giménez represents Miami-Dade County and the Florida Keys. He is noted as the only Cuban-born member of the 118th Congress, having left Cuba after the Communist takeover. His career includes serving as Fire Chief of Miami and Mayor of Miami-Dade County before being elected to Congress. Currently, he chairs the Homeland Security Subcommittee on Transportation and Maritime Security and serves on both the Armed Services Committee and the Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party.
