Today, Congressman Carlos Gimenez, along with Florida Senator Marco Rubio and the United States Coast Guard, assessed the damage caused by Hurricane Milton across Florida.

"As a career first responder, emergency manager, and mayor of Miami-Dade County, I understand first-hand how important it is to deliver assistance to those affected in the aftermath of a major natural distaste," said Rep. Gimenez. "There is no better partner then our US Senator Marco Rubio to work with and deliver much needed federal assistance to those impacted by Hurricane Milton. I look forward to holding the Biden-Harris Administration and FEMA accountable to get the help they need.”

Congressman Carlos Giménez represents Miami-Dade County and the Florida Keys. He is noted as the only Cuban-born Member of the 118th Congress, having left Cuba shortly after its Communist takeover. Giménez holds a unique position as the first career firefighter paramedic elected to the House of Representatives. His previous roles include Fire Chief of Miami and Mayor of Miami-Dade County. Currently, he serves as Chairman of the Homeland Security Subcommittee on Transportation and Maritime Security, participates in the Armed Services Committee, and contributes to the Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party.
