Today, Congressman Carlos Giménez released a statement following President Donald J. Trump's inaugural address at the U.S. Capitol Rotunda. Congressman Giménez, representing the newly established "Gulf of America" in the House of Representatives, expressed his honor in witnessing the event.

"As a Cuban exile who was forced from home at 6, I was beyond honored to witness history at President Trump’s inauguration today," said Congressman Carlos Giménez. He highlighted key actions taken by President Trump on his first day in office: securing the border and designating drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations. "It’s time we FIGHT BACK," he added, emphasizing his eagerness to work with the Trump Administration on various issues including combating regimes in the hemisphere, revitalizing the economy, addressing Chinese influence in the Panama Canal, and fulfilling campaign promises.

Congressman Giménez represents Miami-Dade County and the Florida Keys. He is noted for being the only Cuban-born member of the 119th Congress and has a background as a career firefighter paramedic. His political roles include serving as Vice-Chairman of the Republican Governance Group (RG2), Chairman of the Homeland Security Subcommittee on Transportation and Maritime Security, as well as participating in other committees focused on armed services and Chinese Communist Party matters.
