Rep. María Elvira Salazar, who represents Florida's 27th district in the U.S. Congress, shared several updates through her social media account on recent legislative and community activities. Salazar, a Miami native and University of Miami alumna, has been serving in Congress since 2021 after succeeding Donna Shalala.

On February 13, 2025, Rep. Salazar announced the introduction of a bill aimed at expanding the area for seizing drugs and weapons before they enter the United States by sea.

On February 14, 2025, Rep. Salazar highlighted an event taking place in Miami focused on careers in intelligence and national security. She wrote: "Miami Event Spotlight! Are you interested in a career in intelligence? Join the @GordonInstitute @fiu TODAY for an “Insider's Guide to a Career in National Security” with the Office of Naval Intelligence." 11:30 AM at the College of Business Complex Don’t miss it!"

In another post from February 14, she reiterated information about the same event but delivered it in Spanish: "¡Evento en Miami!
