Congressman Carlos Gimenez has formally requested Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem to investigate and deport individuals linked to the Castro regime. In a letter sent to Secretary Noem, Congressman Gimenez provided a list of individuals allegedly connected to the regime's repressive operations.
According to Gimenez, some agents of the Cuban regime have exploited U.S. immigration laws for entry into the country. He emphasized that these individuals should be identified, investigated, and deported promptly.
Recently, on March 14, 2025, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested Tomas Emilio Hernandez Cruz in South Florida. Cruz is an alleged agent of the Castro intelligence network and is currently in ICE custody awaiting deportation orders.
Gimenez expressed his commitment to collaborating with the Department of Homeland Security to identify other agents from regimes such as Cuba's Castro, Venezuela's Maduro, and Nicaragua's Ortega who may have circumvented U.S. immigration laws.
"Like so many in our community, I was forced from my native homeland of Cuba shortly after the Communist Revolution & it is absolutely reprehensible how agents of the murderous Castro regime have gamed our immigration laws to infiltrate our country," said Congressman Carlos Gimenez. "I applaud President Trump and his Administration for the swift action in recently apprehending an intelligence agent of the Cuban dictatorship living in South Florida and I look forward to continuing working closely together to identify, detain, and repatriate these despicable fraudsters living in our country."
Carlos Giménez represents Miami-Dade County and the Florida Keys as a member of Congress. He is noted for being the only Cuban-born member of the 119th Congress and has a background as a firefighter paramedic before entering politics.
