Rep. María Elvira Salazar, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida's 27th district, has shared several updates via social media that reflect her engagement with space exploration, art initiatives, and educational reform. Her recent tweets highlight her appreciation for SpaceX, encourage student participation in an art competition, and express concern over youth perceptions of historical documents.

On March 20, 2025, Rep. Salazar expressed gratitude to SpaceX for safely returning Crew-9 astronauts to Earth. She remarked on Florida's significant role in the space industry and said she is "very proud" of the state's contributions to future space travel. "¡Bienvenidos a casa, Crew-9! Gracias, @SpaceX, por traer de vuelta sanos y salvos a estos HÉROES estadounidenses."

Later that day, Salazar reminded students about the Congressional Art Competition deadline. She urged students to submit their artwork by the following day for a chance to have it displayed in the Capitol. "Congressional Art Competition ATTENTION Students: Tomorrow is the LAST DAY to submit your artwork to my district office!"

In another post on March 20th, Rep. Salazar voiced her concerns about young people's understanding of foundational American texts versus other political ideologies. She noted a worrying trend where nearly half of youths view "the Communist Manifesto as a better defense of freedom than the DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE." She emphasized her commitment to passing legislation aimed at educating youth on communism's history through her Crucial Communism Teaching Act."Nearly half our youth think the Communist Manifesto is a better defense of freedom than the DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE!"
