Rep. Carlos A. Gimenez, representing Miami-Dade County and the beautiful Florida Keys, has strongly condemned Members of Congress who recently visited Communist Cuba. In a statement, he emphasized the importance of keeping Cuba on the List of State Sponsors of Terrorism, stating, "There is no negotiating with these pathetic thugs."
Gimenez, the only Cuban-born Member of the 118th Congress, fled his homeland following the Communist takeover. With a background as a career firefighter paramedic and former Fire Chief of the City of Miami and Mayor of Miami-Dade County, he brings a unique perspective to his role in Congress. He currently serves on the House Armed Services Committee, the Homeland Security Committee, and the Select Committee on China.
