MIAMI, FL - Congressman Carlos A. Giménez has announced his search for a Veteran, Gold Star Family Member, or Active-Duty Spouse to fill a paid position in his Miami district office, focusing on veterans' casework.
Speaking on the initiative, Rep. Gimenez stated, “For their courage, sacrifice, and dedication to service, we owe our veterans and their families a tremendous debt of gratitude. Having an experienced member of this community act as a liaison between Miami’s veterans and the federal government will enhance our ability to deliver the results our veterans deserve."
The Green & Gold Congressional Aide Program, aimed at providing job opportunities for veterans, Gold Star Family Members, and Active-Duty spouses within the House of Representatives, will facilitate this vital role.
The selected individual will undertake responsibilities such as assisting constituents with veterans-related casework, engaging with federal agencies, liaising with local Veterans Service Organizations, and representing the Member at various events and meetings.
To be eligible for the position, veterans must be honorably discharged and have been released from active duty within the last six years, with specific pay grade criteria. Gold Star Family Members are defined as close relatives of servicemembers who have died on duty or due to service-related conditions. Active-Duty Spouses, on the other hand, must be married to a current member of the Armed Forces.
Rep. Gimenez encouraged all eligible candidates to apply for this important role in serving the veteran community in Miami.
