On December 6, 2024, Rep. Salazar shared on Twitter that "The House of Representatives PASSED my Crucial Communism Teaching Act (HR 5349) today!" She emphasized that the bill is designed to ensure future generations learn about "the horrors of the communist ideology and what it brings for its victims: misery, oppression, and exile."
In another tweet posted on December 6, she reiterated in Spanish that "¡La Cámara de Representantes APROBÓ hoy mi Ley de Enseñanza Crucial del Comunismo (HR 5349)!" highlighting similar themes regarding educating future generations about communism's negative effects.
Later that day, Rep. Salazar expressed gratitude towards her colleagues from both parties for supporting the bill. She tweeted "I am grateful to all my colleagues from both parties who joined me to pass my Crucial Communism Teaching Act." stressing the importance of informing youth about "the evils of communism." She warned that it takes only one generation for this ideology to have detrimental effects.
