She expressed hope for stability in Syria after years of conflict.
In a subsequent tweet posted shortly after on December 8, 2024, she reiterated her statement in Spanish: "Con la caída del dictador sirio Bashar al Assad, el régimen de Maduro en Venezuela ha perdido a uno de sus principales apoyos internacionales." She emphasized the significance of this event and wished for peace in Syria.
On December 9, 2024, Rep. Salazar extended her congratulations to fellow Floridian Brian Mast for his new role as Chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee's Republican wing.
