Rep. María Elvira Salazar, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 27th district, recently shared her thoughts on various issues through a series of tweets. Salazar, who replaced Donna Shalala in 2021 and has been a vocal critic of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, expressed her views on hostages taken under his regime and promoted an upcoming television appearance discussing Latin American policies.

On February 1, 2025, Rep. Salazar posted a tweet welcoming back individuals who had been held hostage, stating emphatically that they "should have NEVER been taken hostage to begin with." She further emphasized that "Maduro HAS TO GO to make sure this never happens again!" The tweet can be accessed here.

The same day, she reiterated her stance in Spanish: "¡Bienvenidos de nuevo a casa! NUNCA debieron ser tomados como rehenes. ¡Maduro TIENE QUE IRSE para asegurarnos de que esto no vuelva a suceder!" This message is available here.

On February 2, 2025, Salazar invited followers to watch her on Fox & Friends at 8:20 AM to discuss "the latest on Trump’s Latin America agenda." The announcement was made via Twitter and can be viewed here.
