Rep. María Elvira Salazar, representing Florida's 27th district in the U.S. Congress, has shared her perspectives via Twitter on political matters concerning Cuba and legislative actions aimed at combating online exploitation. In a series of tweets, she has expressed her stance on the current administration in Cuba and the need for legislation to protect victims of exploitation.

On April 4, 2025, Salazar critiqued Cuba's government with regard to its impact on the Cuban populace, stating "Cuba's communist regime has done nothing but lead its people into misery. It's time to finally end the regime's abuse of Cuban medical missions."

Following this, she reiterated her sentiments in Spanish on the same date, posting "El régimen comunista de Cuba ha sumido a su pueblo en la miseria. Es hora de poner fin al abuso de las misiones médicas."

In a subsequent tweet on April 6, 2025, Salazar expressed gratitude towards the Problem Solvers Caucus for their support of her legislative proposal. She stated "Thank you to the Problem Solvers Caucus for supporting my bill! My TAKE IT DOWN Act will finally give victims real protection from online exploitation. No more excuses: if you exploit an innocent child, you will face JAIL time!"
