Village Of Key Biscayne issued the following announcement on July 30.
To the Key Biscayne Community:
I wish to thank you all for a job well done!
Over the past year, our community has successfully responded to the COVID 19 pandemic by following the CDC’s recommended guidelines related to vaccinations, mask wearing policies and social distancing. The result of your positive action has led to approximately 85% of our population (over the age of 18) to be fully vaccinated! We continue to encourage those of you not yet vaccinated to take advantage of our local vaccination events organized throughout the Village. Over the coming weeks, we will continue to increase the number of vaccine and testing opportunities.
In light of yesterday’s mask mandate announced by Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, I wish to communicate that I stand by our administrative policy that strongly encourages our residents and staff to wear masks and practice social distancing indoors. This practice will be applied at all Village administration buildings. I also encourage our staff and visitors to take full advantage of virtual platforms and tools available for public meetings.
Public safety remains my top priority, and I wish to thank this community for observing our policies which has led to a low number of positive COVID 19 cases on the island.
This shows that we are working together, as a unified community, to fight this disease.
Great job Key Biscayne!!!
