WASHINGTON, D.C. - In a historic moment on the House Floor today, Congressman Carlos Gimenez expressed his support for Speaker Kevin McCarthy as he faces a Motion to Vacate. Gimenez highlighted McCarthy's dedication to the American Dream and emphasized the need to continue fighting for freedom.
Under Speaker McCarthy's leadership, the House of Representatives has achieved significant milestones, including passing robust border legislation to address the ongoing Biden-Mayorkas border crisis. Additionally, McCarthy has been instrumental in steering Washington towards fiscal responsibility and averting a potential government shutdown.
"Speaker Kevin McCarthy has been a champion for the American Dream his entire career," said Congressman Carlos Gimenez. Gimenez, the only Cuban-born member of the 118th Congress, fled his homeland following the Communist takeover. He serves on the House Armed Services Committee, the Homeland Security Committee, and the Select Committee on China.
