WASHINGTON, D.C. - Florida Keys Congressman Carlos A. Giménez (FL-28) has reiterated his call for reforming the Motion to Vacate during an appearance on CNN's News Central today. Rep. Giménez has made it clear that he will not endorse any candidate for Speaker of the House until there is a commitment to reform this motion, which led to the premature removal of Speaker McCarthy.
"I'm not supporting any candidate for Speaker of the House until there is a commitment to reform the Motion to Vacate," said Rep. Giménez. "Last week's despicable spectacle against Speaker McCarthy must never happen again. No one can govern effectively under threat by those on the fringes."

Congressman Carlos A. Giménez represents Miami-Dade County and the Florida Keys in the U.S. House of Representatives. He currently serves on the Armed Services, Homeland Security, and the new Select Committee on China. Previously, he held the position of Mayor of Miami-Dade County. As the only Cuban-born Member of the United States Congress, Rep. Giménez brings a unique perspective to the table.
