Rep. María Elvira Salazar, currently serving in the U.S. Congress for Florida's 27th district, has recently voiced her concerns on social media regarding national security threats and historical remembrance. On December 7, 2024, she addressed issues related to China's alleged intelligence operations from Cuba and commemorated the anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack.

On December 7, 2024, Rep. Salazar expressed concerns over China's intelligence activities in a tweet stating that "China is spying on Americans and running intelligence operations from Cuba, just 90 miles from our shores." She described this as a "serious threat to U.S. national security" and urged action against what she termed as China’s "dangerous ambitions."

In another tweet posted on the same day at 15:05:45 UTC, Rep. Salazar reiterated her stance in Spanish by stating "China espía a estadounidenses desde Cuba, a sólo 90 millas de nuestras costas." Again emphasizing that this alliance poses "una amenaza grave para nuestra seguridad nacional," she called for vigilance against these perceived threats.

Later that day at 22:35:25 UTC, Rep. Salazar took to Twitter to commemorate the anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack. She remarked "Today marks 83 years since our military base was attacked at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii." In her message, she paid tribute to those who lost their lives during the attack and subsequent war efforts.
