Rep. María Elvira Salazar, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Florida’s 27th district, used social media to discuss recent transformative developments in El Salvador and concerns regarding immigration policy. The tweets were posted on April 14, 2025, shedding light on the legislative focus and concerns of the congresswoman, who has served in Congress since 2021.

In her first tweet of the day, Salazar highlights the significant transformation El Salvador has undergone. "La transformación de El Salvador es un milagro. De un país plagado de violencia y pandillas, pasó a ser el más seguro de Centroamérica." She emphasizes that the country’s improved security situation, a result of its security policies, merited "a visit to the Casa Blanca in the first 100 days of Trump!"

Echoing her previous sentiment, Salazar tweeted in English, restating her view of El Salvador’s progress. "El Salvador’s transformation is truly a miracle. The country once plagued by violence and gangs is now the safest country in Central America.” She attributes this achievement to the policies that led to El Salvador earning "a White House visit in Trump’s first 100 days!"

Salazar also turned her attention to immigration issues, specifically addressing the concerns of the Cuban community. In a later tweet, she expressed her ongoing commitment to finding a solution for Cuban individuals facing issues with the I-220A form. "Por varios años, me he comprometido a encontrar una solución para los miles de cubanos con el I-220A. La administración de Biden no hizo nada." She concluded with a call for better support for "Nuestro pueblo."

María Elvira Salazar is currently serving in the U.S. Congress, representing Florida’s 27th district. She replaced previous U.S Congress member Donna Shalala in 2021.
