City Of Coral Gables issued the following announcement on Mar. 23.
Inducted into the Florida Women’s Hall of Fame (1986) and one of Coral Gables’ “Citizen of the Year” honorees, Arva Moore Parks certainly has an impressive resume. Arva ran the Coral Gables Museum and served as president of HistoryMiami, chaired Coral Gables' Historic Preservation Board, and the Florida Humanities Council.
She wrote several books and produced films on Miami, Coral Gables, and Coconut Grove, eventually earning an Emmy Award from the Florida Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
Her contributions as a historian, a writer, a filmmaker, and a preservationist will continue to be recognized and praised for years to come.
