Rep. María Elvira Salazar, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 27th district, shared insights and experiences through a series of tweets on December 10, 2024. Her posts touched on historical traditions at the White House and her stance on international trade agreements.

On December 10, Rep. Salazar tweeted about a longstanding tradition dating back to President John Adams' era: "In 1800, then President John Adams hosted a Christmas Party for his granddaughter at the White House and invited government officials and their children. How special to be part of this tradition last night @WhiteHouse, joined by my amazing daughter Nicoletta!"

Later that day, she addressed geopolitical issues regarding Nicaragua in another tweet: "I’ve been saying it for years. The Ortega/Murillo dictatorship in Nicaragua does not belong in a free trade agreement with the United States." She reiterated this message in Spanish as well: "Lo llevo diciendo desde hace años. La dictadura de Ortega/Murillo en Nicaragua no tiene cabida en un tratado de libre comercio con Estados Unidos."
