Rep. María Elvira Salazar, currently serving in the U.S. Congress and representing Florida's 27th District, took to social media on April 9, 2025, to share her views on international and domestic matters. Salazar, who replaced Donna Shalala in 2021, is an advocate for legislative reforms and AI regulations. She holds a BA from the University of Miami and is a long-time Miami resident.

On April 9, 2025, Salazar expressed her support for Argentina's economic reform efforts under the leadership of J. Milei. " Good news! Under @JMilei's leadership, Argentina has shown it's ready to make the tough reforms needed for prosperity." She urged the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to approve the necessary deals to assist Argentina in maintaining its progress.

Her sentiments were reiterated later that day in Spanish, emphasizing the importance of IMF approval for Argentina's efforts. " ¡Buenas noticias! Bajo el liderazgo de @JMilei, Argentina ha demostrado estar dispuesta a implementar reformas difíciles pero necesarias para lograr la prosperidad."

In addition to international affairs, Salazar introduced a new legislative effort focused on protecting citizens from unauthorized AI usage. "I’m proud to stand with bipartisan, bicameral colleagues and introduce the NO FAKES Act!" The proposed NO FAKES Act aims to safeguard individuals' voices and likenesses against misuse by artificial intelligence technologies.

Salazar's advocacy, covering both international economic reform and domestic privacy protection, highlights her role as an influential figure in shaping policy. Her education at the University of Miami and experience in the Florida House of Representatives add to her considerable expertise.
