Rep. María Elvira Salazar, a member of the U.S. Congress for Florida's 27th district, shared thoughts on various topics via Twitter, addressing issues of significance in American agriculture, water rights, and online exploitation.

On April 11, 2025, Salazar expressed gratitude towards President Biden and Representative Monica De La Cruz for their efforts in supporting American farmers and protecting U.S. water rights. She emphasized the responsibility of Mexico, stating, "Mexico must make this right." Her statement underscores the ongoing discussions over water allocation between the U.S. and its southern neighbor.

In a separate but related post the same day, Salazar reiterated her message in Spanish, saying, "Gracias, @POTUS y @repmonicadlc, por luchar por los agricultores estadounidenses y los derechos sobre el agua en EE. UU. México debe corregir esto." Her bilingual outreach reflects her engagement with both English and Spanish-speaking communities on these issues.

Later that day, she acknowledged support from her colleagues in Congress, thanking them for backing her proposed legislation, the TAKE IT DOWN Act (H.R. 633). The act aims to address the issue of online exploitation, which Salazar describes as a common-sense initiative. She stated, "It’s common sense and it’s time to stop online exploitation."

María Elvira Salazar has served in the U.S. Congress since 2021, succeeding Donna Shalala. Representing Florida's 27th District, she was born in Miami in 1961 and graduated from the University of Miami with a BA in 1983. Her legislative focus includes various issues affecting her constituents, from agricultural rights to digital safety.
